The essential oils of
Perilla acuta (Thunb.) Nakai (Shiso) and
Perilla acuta Nakai f.
viridis (Makino) Nakai (Aojiso) were found to consist equally from small amounts of α-pinene (0.3_??_1.3%), camphene (0.0_??_0.1%), β-pinene (0.5_??_2.2%),
p-cymene (0.2_??_0.4%), 3-octanol (0.3_??_1.4%), 1-octen-3-ol (0.1_??_2.0%),
trans-linalooloxide (0.0_??_0.2%),
cis-linalooloxide (0.0_??_0.2%), linalool (1.9_??_8.3%), β-ylangene (0.1_??_0.3%), benzaldehyde (0.4_??_1.3%), caryophyllene (5.3_??_8.6%), α-terpineol (0.1_??_0.5%), α-farnesene (2.7_??_6.5%), carvone (0.0_??_0.8%),
trans-carveol (trace),
cis-carveol (trace), allofarnesene (0.5_??_3.9%),
trans-shisool (8-
p-menthen-7-ol) (2.2_??_8.2%),
cis-shisool (0.0_??_0.6%),
l-perillylalcohol (1.0_??_4.5%) and other compounds, besides
l-perillaldehyde (32.0_??_54.8%) and
l-limonene (8.4._??_32.4%) as the main constituents.
