Discussions regarding the virus laboratory in the National Hospital at present and in future are as follows:
1. The viral diseases should be examined in the National Hospital are considered to be Japanese encephalitis, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, polio, coxackie, ECHO, influenza, parainfluenza, mumps, adeno virus infection, respiratory syncytial, rhino virus infections, measles, rubella, varicella, herpes, infections mononucleosis, rckettsial infectiosn, and primary atypical pneumonia.
2. The instruments should be equipped in the laboratory are mentioned. The route of supplying the virus strains and antisera for typing, cells, media and reagents are discussed.
A number of the staffs, technologists, and assistants in the laboratory is also discussed.
3. The system of co-operation between the virus laboratories in the National Hospitals and those of the Universities and/or Public Health Institutes locating every districts should be established as soon as possible.
