Effects on the respiratory and circulatory system by Ketalar anesthesia with intravenous or intramuscular way were investigated on 80 cases, Results were as follows. Systolic blood pressure showed 16% increase in i.v. group and 8% increase in i.m. group. Pulse rate showed 23% increase in i.v. group and 9% increase in i.m. group. Respiration rate did not show any significant change in the both group. Tidal volume showed 27% decrease in i.v. group and 20% decrease in i. m. group. Arterial blood gas showed a decrease of Pao

2, decrease of pH, and decrease of B. E., In conclusion, Ketalar affected obviously respiratory and circulatory system, but it did not affect clinical problem.
Ketalar is a safe anesthetic drug compared with thiopenthal. Ketalar anesthesia is a excellent method as intravenous induction anesthesia for adults and intramuscular single anesthesia for children.
