    The apparatus of apexcardiograph which was designed by us consists of transducer, filter, amplifier, recorder and monitor.
    The apexcardiogram is recorded by means of a linear crystal microphone which is connected to commercial oscillographic photographic recorder.
    The low pass filter was devised. It was set to 0.1 cps for the lower limit and to 16 cps for the higher limit.
    The patient is placed usually in left lateral decubitus position, rarely in semi-recumbent or supine position, and the point of maximal apex pulsation is determined by palpation.
    In this way the apexcardiogram is recorded simultaneously with the electrocardiogram and phonocardiogram.
    The tracings are recorded at a paper speed of 50 mm/sec. or 100 mm/sec, with 0.05 second time lines.

    The osmosis of the muscle cell membrane (sartorius muscle of Rana catesibiana) was studied by measuring the weight of muscle which was soaked in various solution.
    Even in isotonic solution of CaCl2 or sucrose, the muscle cell lost its water remarkably. But in the isotonic KCl solution, the cell absorbed the water from the environment.
    On the contrary, the water content of the cell was kept constant in isotonic NaCI solution.
    The osmotic pressure of Ringer's solution, of isotonic CaCl2 and of NaCl solution were raised by adding sucrose. The water content of muscle was decreased exponentially in such hypertonic solutions.
    Procaine promoted the muscle to lose water in hypertonic solution, but contrarily eserine inhibited it.
    From above mentioned facts, it was concluded that the most important factors in the mechanism of efflux or influx of the water molecule through muscle cell membrane were following two ; (1) the difference of osmotic pressures between the environmental solution and muscle cells, (2) shift of K+ and other inorganic rations with bound water through the membrane.

    p-Aminomethylbenzenesulfonamideの鶏胎仔に与える影響は色々であるが, 奇形原性はSulfanilamideに比し弱くなる.おそらくp-Aminomethylbenzenesulfonamide構造中のCH2-基の介在によるものと思われるが, 又体内におけるp-Carboxybenzenesulfonamideへの転換の速やかなることもこれに関与するものであろう.

    Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) has proved to be a simple and rapid procedure for the separation of blood lipids1-3. As for the quantitative analysis of serum lipids by TLC only a few methods have been suggested4-7. They are based on two procedures. One is possible by measuring and comparing the sizes or areas of spots on a chromatoplate and the other is by determining the concentrations of various fractions obtained by eluting the scrappings of coating materials. As the former procedure, Purdy and Truter proposed the algebraic method to calculate the amount of materials from the spot area and Schlierf et al. applied this procedure to the quantitative analysis of human plasma lipids, in particular free fatty acids and triglycerides.
    Araki has shown, after the documentation of the chromatogram, that serum lipid components could be estimated quantitatively by densitometry.
    The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether TLC originally described by Zollner et al. can be used for the quantitative analysis of serum lipids applying the densitometry to a chromatoplate.

    1) The case of a 51 years old woman with gastric-phlegmon has been described.
    2) Depending upon the pre-operative examination, the patient was diagnosed as a gastric cancer and total gastrotomy, was performed.
    3) After the pathological examination of resected stomach, it was decided as a diffuse gastric phlegmon. But the grow of disease could not been established.
    4) The problems of treatment for gastric phlegmon and some considerations are discussed.
