We could get the following conclusion after a few experiments on impeding elements for lactobacilli growth in fermented cow's milk and acidophilus beverage.
(1) About the original liquid and the solution of acidophilus beverage of which lactobacilli is strengthened by a few drops of chlorella, we can notice the decrease of lactobacilli and its resisting power when preserved for a long time.
(2) Commonly used quantity of dehydroacetic acid natrium has no power to impede the growth of lactobacilli in the acidophilus beverage.
(3) Isolated chlorine has an injurious effect on lactobacilli.
