This paper is to report about the family type and the nutrient intake of the family as well as of the individuals therein. The factors affecting the nutritional status of the children of the various stages of development were also investigated. The summary of the results were as follows:- 1. When grouped by the numbers of the children the nutrition intake of the family with 2 children was superior. Taking the growth stage of the children into consideration, the families with one pre-school child and the families with 3 elder school-children(over junior high school children) were worse in intaking the nutrients, especially the animal protein. 2. As to the individual's intake the children were generally worse. Of them the young children aged 3-8 years and adolescent boys and girls were remarkably inferior to the respective standard allowances both in calorie and protein intakes. 3. The children's intake of the animal foods was not adequate, elder boys taking less amount of fish and meat than their fathers. 4. The younger children took considerably much foods between meals, especially it is worthy of note that the infants rely nearly half of their calorie intake upon this eating between meals. It is a very important problem for improving the nutrition of the infants in the farm countries.
