Emphasis has been made on the practical need for careful control of potassium intake through diet in the group of patients of hypertension. So far, excellent source for potassium intake has been sought in fruits and vegetables, although, another emphasis has been made that protein presents higher potassium concentration among dietary portions.
We examined the price of food-purchase in the seven-hospitals within Munakata-health-center. The results were as follow. The price of food-purchase was tend to higher in the public hospital than in the private hospital. The price of the purchase varied highly from food to food. We found that we have to buy cheaper the food, which was used frequently and abundantly and the price of which changed severely.
As the result of the individual research for nourishing food taken by 87 pregnant women in Tokushima prefecture, we get the following data. In former period of pregnancy in summer, the pregnant women living in mountain and fishing village take little V. A and V. C. In farm, mountain, and fishing village take little protein. In all areas inclusive of city take little Ca. In latter period of pregnancy in winter, pregnant women living in mountain village take little protein, Fe, V. A, and V. C.
