A trial food Constitution which may satisfy the Recommended Dietary Allowance for Japanese in 1980 was calculated by age, sex, activity, pregnancy and lactation. The Japanese Recommended Dietary Allowances for 1980 were revised in 1975 by the Committe for Nutrition Allowances on the basis of the expected physical status in 1980. The calculating method was basically the same with that of the previous time. Foods were classified into 19 groups according to the clasification used in the National Nutrition Survey. Weighted average tables of for groups based on the Standard Tables of Food Composition in Japan (3rd revised edition), the recent results of the National Nurition Survey, and Food Balance Sheet were taken into consideration. The Food constitution table was framed so as to suffice the desirable allowances as much as possible, under consideration of expected changes in food consumption tendency of each group in 1980. A food constitution table per capita per day based on a expected population constitution in 1980 was also calculated and tables were framed above.
