In order to learn the direction for concrete guidance to be given to students in respect of their dietary life, the actual conditions of their dietary life were surveyed. Results obtained are as follows: 1) Students were found to lack in their nutritional intake, particularly in their intake of micronutrients. 2) Their animal food intake was found suitable except for that of milk, but that of vegetable food was found rather limited. 3) Daily intake of crude fiber per person was 3.45g, which corresponded to 1.97g per 1, 000 kcal. About 50% of crude fiber originated from vegetables. 4) The dietary pattern of those students who took rice as staple food were more varied in respect of types of food, number of side dishes and cooking methods employed than those who took wheat as their staple food.
