Based on the results of the previous study on Itsukushima Shrine, we focused on the “corridor” and examined the floorboards of the corridor as a measure to mitigate the effects of waves and storm surges based on the sea conditions. The floorboards of the corridor are expected to reduce the energy of short-period transmitted waves toward the main hall. However, it is difficult to adopt the idea that the corridor was screened to reduce the wave energy.

In this study, we conducted a Web-based questionnaire survey targeting residents of the Kinki region (N=1053). By comparing the marginal effects by leveraging a multinomial logistical regression based on states of isolated and/or loneliness, we searched for a spatial prescription that contributes to the prevention of feelings of isolated and loneliness. Especially, by comparing the marginal effect as a numerical value according to the circumstances of the loneliness and isolation situation, it was observed that a spatial prescription which contributes to the prevention of solitude and isolation existed.
This research clarified the actual condition of the parking space in Imai-cho, Nara Prefecture, which is the Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings. As a result, the density of parking lots inside the IPDGTB is one-third that of the outside.
Therefore, it became clear that the construction of parking lots was relatively suppressed in Imai-cho. However, in the case where the entire site is converted into a parking lot, there is no difference in the number of locations inside and outside the IPDGTB. Therefore, the increase in parking lots in the future may adversely affect the historical townscape.

Based on inquiries into certain original materials, the development of reinforced concrete is conceived in two aspects. 1. The theories had reached a high level in the middle of the 1910s, when a peak of the popularization of reinforced concrete also existed. During the 1910s, the construction technologies developed rapidly, while the experiments were mainly introduced from overseas. 2. Around the end of the 1910s, most of the buildings of reinforced concrete were constructed in frame structure, with evolvement of bar arrangement. However, the mechanical model was still simply supported system, with limited consideration of rigid joint.

In this study, we focused on the type of systems that the central or local governments can build for earthquake victims to enable quick rebuilding. We estimated the necessary reconstruction funds and the benefits of the support system, including self-funding in the earthquake aftermath. We subsequently captured the trend of damage and estimated the effects of future support measures by clarifying the earthquake intensity, damage level, dwelling reconstruction, and deficient reconstruction funds for each type of structure. In addition, the self-funding assumes multiple cases due to its expected variability among households.
