Synovial sarcoma was found in a five-year-old male Yorkshire Terrier. The dog suffered from lameness of unknown cause in the right hind limb for about 6 months with subsequent hard swelling of the thigh. On radiographs, a clearly demarcated, localized destructive lesion was noticed in the caudomedial part of the supracondyloid region without any finding suggestive of aggressiveness or periosteal osteogenesis. A jelly-like substance was collected by biopsy from the deep femoral region close to the destructive supracondyloid lesion. Histologically, it was characteristic of synovial sarcoma.
Euthanasia and necropsy were performed 41 days after it was admitted to the hospital for the first time due to progressive deterioration of clinical manifes tations which had not been improved by administration of a nitrosourea derivative.

Aspergillus fumigatus was isolated purely from the milk of a 6-year-old Holstein cow which had begun to show symptoms of mastitis a day after delivery. Only the left front udder exhibited general swelling, induration, and pain.
When 1-ml milk samples were collected from this udder at 17, 19, and 27 days of illness, 200, 250, and 230 pieces of A. fumigatus, respectively, were isolated, About 20 pieces were present 1cm3 of mammary tissue stamp prepared after slanghter.
Histopathologically, many large and small lesions contained hyphae which were clearly radiating in the acinus. Granulomata were formed in old lesions. Consequently, this mastitis was concluded to have caused by A. fumigatus.

Three cases of porcine influenza were studied pathologically. Two pigs weighing about 30kg were sacrificed 4 days after the onset of clinical manifestation. Grossly, they exhibited an increase in amount of mucus on the mucous membranes of the nasal cavity and trachea, enlargement of the lymph nodes at the pulmonary hilus, and localized pneumonic lesions in the anterior part of the lung. Histological findings included bronchial pmeumonia characterized by degeneration and regeneration of the bronchial mucosal epithelia, degeneration of the mucosal epithelium of the nasal cavity, and lymphadenitis of the lymph nodes in the respiratory organs. They were assumed to be changes in the middle stage of porcine influenza.
The other pig weighing about 100kg died suddenly without presenting any distinct symptom. Its pulmonary and tracheal mucous membranes were dark red and covered with bloody exudation. Histologically, mucosal epithelia were detached from trachea and bronchi, polymorphonuclear cells infiltrated, and trachea and lung were affected severely with hyperemia, hemorrhage, and edema. These changes were regarded as those of the early stage of porcine influenza.
