Twenty-two cows with ovarian follicular cysts were treated with 20 Armour units of antrin, acommercial FSH preparation, equivalent to 300 R. Ov. U. of FSH. Eighteen of them (81.8%) came into normal estrus 30.4 days on theaveiage after treatment. Sixteen cows (72.7%) conceived after 1.3 times insemination on the average. The therapeutic effect was higher when the hormone was given by the intravenousroute thanby the intramuscular route.
The course of healing by FSH treatment was similar to that by HCG treatment. FSH altered the state of cyst, so that luteinization took place for the most part. In some cases the cyst disappeared by regression. These findings suggested that FSH might have an action to induce ovulation, as well as luteinization, in cows.

Endocarditis was found in 22 (0.016%) of 131, 867 cattle examined at a municipal abattoir in Hiroshima over a period from 1965 to 1972. Its principal symptoms were anemia, pyrexia, edema, cardiac murmur, emaciation, and dyspnea.
Hyperplastic growths occurred most frequently to the tricuspid valve, often to the bilateral atrioventricular valves, and sometimes to the pulmonary valve. They were like cauliflower, with their surface covered with granulation tissue, fibrous tissue, and regenerative epithelial tissue.
Corynebacterium pyogenes and hemolytic streptococci were isolated from heart, liver, spleen, kidney, and carcase. Four Corynebacterium and four Streptococcus strains isolated were selected and examined for sensitivity to six antibiotics. They were highly sensitive to chloramphenicol and erythromycin. Many of them were resistant to penicillin.
