Trimelarsen was injected intravenously into 246 dogs positive for microfilariae. No side effects were observed in any dog immediately after injection. The most remarkable filaricidal effect was noticed when 5mg/kg of the drug was injected four times at intervals of 4-8 hours. This effect was hardly reduced even when the drug was diluted, stored at low temperature, and used within 36 hours.
The blood level of trimelarsen reached a peak immediately after injection and decreased to about 70% 6 hours later. No residual arsenic was detected from any organ at autopsy conducted 25 days after injection.

A Great Dane 7 1/2 years old was subjected to ultrasonic cardiography (UCG), electrocardiography, and chest roentgenography. UCG revealed shortening and thickening of the apical region of the mitral valve, which had probably caused mitral insufficiency.

Fifty-seven cattle were examined by the serum colloid reactions and blood chemical tests. As a result, the correlation to A/G ratio was 0.75 for the zinc sulfate turbidity test (ZTT), 0.73 for Lugol reaction, 0.65 for Gros reaction, and 0.27 for TTT. The correlation to the albumin r2 fraction was significant at 1 % level for ZTT, Gros and Lugol reactions and at 5% level for TTT. Correlation was low between the results of the serum colloid reactions and those of chemical tests, except TP. It was suggested that TTT might be little available for the laboratory test of bovine serum.

Persistent left cranial vena cava was found in a three-year-old male Doberman Pinscher dog affected with the vena caval syndrome of canine heartworm disease. Surgical removal of heartworms from this dog through the jugular vein was unsuccessful due to the unusual course of the cranial vena cave opening into the right atrium. Electrocardiogram, roentgenogram, and cardioangiogram were described of this dog. Autopsy showed no remnants of the right cranial vena cava or any other detectable cardiovascular anomaly.
