  • 自記オージオグラムの振幅に関する研究

    The excursion width of the self-recording audiogram was studied especially in the viewpoint of the relation to the subject's reaction time.The observations and considerations were summarized as follows:
    (1) In normal trained subject, the width of tion rate was 1 db per second and 5 to 7db when it was 2db per second.
    (2) It was supposed that this difference was mainly due to the reaction time of the manipulation of the signal key.
    (3) The author originated the special method for measuring this reaction time and by subtracting this value from the excursion width, the limit of intensity difference(IDL) of normal subjects was calculated. It was concluded that the value of the IDL at the threshold level of 1000cps tone was about 2.5db in a normal person.
    (4) Therefore, not only the IDL but also the reaction time plays a great role in the formation ogram.The reaction time is frequently influenced by subject's experience in the manipulation of this device, attentiveness and many other mental states or processes.
    (5) From the above mentioned observations and considerations the author concluded that for the purpose of the recruitment testing, slow attenuation audiometry.

    The proficiency in the reading of EEG-audio records was investigated on three untrained reader and a trained one (the present aurthor). The disparity of the ratio of correct judgement for EEG responses between these four readers was evaluated by the use of statistical procedures.
    The test was carried out seven times once a week using 7 subjects with normal hearing.Pure tone of 1000 cps at the intensities of 20, 50 and ble, and the stimulus was given according to one of these 30 arrangements.Since the arrangement of the stimulus was not informed to the readers, they decided the presence or absence of auditory responses on the basis of objective characteristics of the EEG records.
    The individual variation between the trained and the untrained readers on the ratio of correct judgement for EEG records was decreased as the rence was observed at the fourth and the sixth tests.
    From the results obtained, the conclusion can be drawn that the detection of EEG responses to wever, for obtaining a high degree of reliability to be familiar with the forms of EEG responses to the auditory stimulus but also to maintain the suitable depth of sleep of subjects during the test and to judge correctly the individual differences of EEG patterns.

    Exploration was attempted of the relationship between the flora and the inflammation in the epipharyngeal mucosa, which relationship, if any, is expected to be one of the possible diagnostic criteria for the epipharyngitis.
    For the purpose of the clinical use the author ination of the methyleneblue stained smear from the epipharyngeal area.
    The parallel reationship between the epipharyngeal flora and the clinical symptoms was thus found, which was remarkable in the case of an acute increase of the symptoms, indicating that the osis of the epipharyngitis.

    When the air in a cylindric bell falling into a water tank passes through a tube of least resistance into the nose and nasopharynx and then out through the mouth opened, the driving pressure at a naris is relatively constant.Consequently a time measured by this apparatus to pass a certain volume of air, (which inversely, of a volume of air per unit of time), is the resistance of a nasal cavity.
    In this case the proper driving pressure was 2g/cm2.The pressure, however, at the time, when the outlet of the tube was obstructed, had to be a little larger than this value, because the considera- tron of the internal resistance of the apparatus was inevitable.It was, therefore, necessary to correct the time directly measured by this apparatus to that under the driving pressure of 2g/cm2.
    Auther proposed r.r.(Rhinometric Resistance) as a unit of resistance of nasal cavity ; that is, .a time taken to pass 1 liter of air through a nasal cavity with driving pressure of 2g/cm2.The mean of the resistance of nasal cavity of males, 18 to 38 yrs., who did not show objective nor subjective obstruction, was 3r.r.

    A rare case of adenoma of minor salivary gland arising from the soft palate was described.
    The patient was 53 years old female with chief complain of feeling of foreign body in the oral cavity because of increasing growth of the tumor.
    The tumor being size of pigeon's egg was extirpated surgically and the patient was cured uneventfully.
    This case was clinically diagnosed as the socalled benign mixed tumor, but histopathologic examination showed it to be acinic cell adenoma with the character of oxyphilic granular cell adenoma(Oncocytoma) which Authors named it as oxyphilic acinic cell adenoma.
    19 cases of true adenoma originating in the palate were reviewed in the literature of Japan and occidental countries.
    Classification and histogenesis of true adenoma of salivary glands were discussed.
